Erongo Taxidermy's motto is quality and service. We want to see that clients receive their trophies in the best possible condition and as quickly as possible.
Tanning of capes and animal skins is a big priority in Erongo Taxidermy, because we know that quality is primarily maintained here. All the capes go trough a pickling and tanning process that is extensively monitored. Over time we have adapted our recipes to utilize newer and better chemicals.
We prepare all different species of animals in Africa, including endangered species. We specialize in head mounts, full mounts, pedestal mounts and rug mounts. All the rugs mounts are finished off with felt to protect the skin over many years. For tanned skins felting is a option. For any animal to be prepared legal permits must be provided by the client. The trophies are thoroughly cleaned with chemicals that have been prescribed by the Ministry of Health. Skull mounts are finished off with a shield that is made of Kyat wood, which is an indigenous wood of Namibia.
Dip & pack? Its very important to us that all capes, skins and trophies leave the country clean and domesticated. We also provide the service to clean trophies before sending them to an overseas taxidermist to be processed there. Packing of the trophies is part of our services and is done with extreme caution and great skill to prevent any damage to the trophies. Shipping can be done by an agent of the clients choosing but we also can provide a professional shipping agent.
